Rain Flower Stones began with a fascination that grew into a journey—and a desire to share it.
I’m Yohan Yang, the founder of Rain Flower Stones. In 2018, I moved to Nanjing, China, for university. It was there that I first discovered Rain Flower stones, also known as Yuhua Stones / Yangtze River agates, and became captivated by the colors and patterns held within these small, naturally rounded pebbles.
Before long, my best friends and I were driving more than a hundred kilometers to Nanjing’s Luhe district, searching for stones in ancient Yangtze River gravel deposits. Away from the city and the crowds, I found as much joy in the search as in the discovery. Each trip felt like a small pilgrimage: a chance to slow down, work with my hands, and uncover something that had waited far longer than I could imagine.
FROM THE YANGTZE RIVER TO YOUR COLLECTION
Rain flower stone is a name for a variety of ornamental pebbles, rather than a single mineral. Our collection focuses on AGATE, treasured for its banding, rich colors, and intricate natural patterns.
I source stones through both my own digging in the Luhe area and purchases from local sellers. Every stone in the shop is personally selected by me.
All our Rain flower stones are natural, undyed, unpolished, and free from artificial treatments. Their surfaces retain the character of the original pebble—a quality I value deeply.
